Game Handheld Retro Console. Remember when I wrote about that Playdate ? Res-low, This small video game console with a black and white screen and a single hand. That was back in 2019.\u00a0The console came out last year, but the world was a\u00a0creator and\u00a0had to postpone their blocky handheld dreams.<\/p>\n

But now it’s 2021,\u00a0Panic has some news about Playdate.\u00a0In their first Playdate update last June 9, they revealed the current state of the console;\u00a0some new games;\u00a0New accessories\u00a0Most importantly, he talked about the price and the reservation date.<\/p>\n

Playdate stereo slot (Game Handheld Retro Console)<\/h2>\n

The console has its own USB-C to USB-A cable charger, but you’ll want a little more class to store your Playdate.\u00a0In comes the Playdate Stereo Dock. The Stereo Dock is the first accessory for a console that has many functions.<\/p>\n

  1. Like its namesake, it works as a slot for Playdate.\u00a0When the console is magnetically attached to the front of the dock, its battery will start charging.\u00a0Why didn’t anyone think of this before!<\/li>\n

It is a Bluetooth stereo speaker.\u00a0It improves the sound quality of the games you play on Playdate, and more importantly, if you’re willing to hold the giant block in your hands, Playdate will come with its own media player app called\u00a0Poolsuite FM\u00a0<\/em>.\u00a0It doesn’t completely turn the Playdate into an iPod, but it does include “summer tunes” that can be played on the Playdate itself or on the Stereo Dock.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    1. It is the owner of the pen.\u00a0Yup.\u00a0Because of the space at the top of the speaker, Panic decided to create a giant hole to make good use of it.\u00a0It seemed appropriate, so they came up with the idea of \u200b\u200bmaking their own pen for this purpose.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      Like the Playdate itself, the Playdate Stereo Dock, designed by the Stockholm-based electronics company\u00a0\u00a0, will be purchased separately from the\u00a0teenage engineer<\/a> ‘s main Playdate console.\u00a0Pricing hasn’t been announced yet, but hopefully it will be ready in time for Playdate’s release.<\/p>\n

      24 games in 24 seasons<\/h2>\n

      One of Playdate’s biggest selling points is that you don’t know what games you’re getting until you release them and download them to the console.\u00a0While this may be a red flag for some, others love the idea of \u200b\u200bplaying amazing games every week. The first season of Playdate games is still 12 weeks Fri, but instead of playing one game each week, you get two games. A total of 24 games will be released in Playdate’s inaugural season, including\u00a0Time Travel Adventure\u00a0,\u00a0Lost Your Marbles\u00a0and\u00a0Saturday Edition\u00a0.<\/p>\n

      This is usually the part where I talk about games.\u00a0But I don’t think they’re surprising.\u00a0You have a playdate.\u00a0All games will be free as long as you have an internet connection to download them.<\/p>\n

      Sweet Baby, Inc.\u00a0New games from<\/h2>\n

      This is the near future of the Playdate set. But what about the horizon? Playdate is for developers Sweet Baby, Inc. and created several exclusive games for their console.\u00a0Lost Your Marbles<\/em>\u00a0One of the company’s games, Playdate, is already slated for its first season.\u00a0But down the line they are working on two new games.\u00a0Reel thief<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0recommendation dog<\/em>\u00a0.<\/p>\n

      Both games are led by veteran developers and staffed by first-time and veteran developers.\u00a0Sweet Baby hopes that this will allow people of all ages to enter the world of gaming, regardless of their disability or experience.<\/p>\n

      Lucas Pope<\/h2>\n

      If you don’t know who Lucas Pope is, he’s a veteran game developer who works on hit\u00a0papers, please.\u00a0<\/em>And the return of\u00a0the Obra Dinn<\/em>\u00a0.\u00a0Both games can be played on a potato using low-white black and white graphics.\u00a0So it’s no surprise that he’s doing something for Playdate.<\/p>\n

      Make your own games<\/h2>\n

      There are many developers who will be featured in the update, but the most important of them is traditionally you. Even if you don’t know how to code,\u00a0Playdate is<\/em>\u00a0a web browser tool that will help you create your own games.\u00a0Inspired by Adam Le Doux’s\u00a0Bitsy game creator<\/em>\u00a0,\u00a0pulp and<\/em>\u00a0graphics to create your dreams.\u00a0music\u00a0You can do script actions and more.\u00a0Once you’ve played the game, you can upload it to Playdate and test it yourself. Just like\u00a0Bitsy<\/em>\u00a0, the\u00a0pulp<\/em>\u00a0will be completely free.\u00a0It will be released later this year.<\/p>\n

      Pricing and pre-orders (Game Handheld Retro Console)<\/h2>\n

      Two years ago, Playdate cost $149.\u00a0this year\u00a0Playdate is $179\u00a0.\u00a0Why did the price go up?\u00a0I don’t know\u00a0But hopefully this will be the last price before the console is released.\u00a0Speaking of release, there is no release date for Playdate yet.\u00a0All we got from this update is that\u00a0pre-orders are set to start in July\u00a0this year.\u00a0You can go to the\u00a0Playdate website\u00a0to find out more.\u00a0But hopefully Panic will release more updates before the release of their retro handheld console<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
