Is it a road? In our city of Yangon, which is not clear whether it is a waterway or not, it will be disappointing for low-end cars. Even moderately high cars are flooded to the point where it is alarming. If it is now on the water, How convenient will it be for small cars that can go comfortably on land? What I would like to explain now is the water that was mentioned on Top Gear last year in 2021. So, it’s about nine cars that will be able to travel comfortably on land.

1. Prodrive Watercar

According to the American manufacturers, this car is the fastest amphibious car in the world. With a 3.7-liter V6 engine, it can reach 43 mph at sea. This car is from the United States. It was imported by a California-based company and adapted to the roads of England. On land, it is a car that can drive up to 80 miles per hour. Its price is listed at £165,000.

2. Rinspeed sQuba

Switzerland’s Rinspeed company produced both on land and It is said to be the world’s first car that can drive underwater. It was first introduced at the Geneva Motor Show in 2008 and is based on the Lotus Esprit featured in the 1977 Jane’s Bond car. It has lithium-ion batteries for recharging and can travel up to 3 km underwater, 6 km on water, and 120 km/h on land. The price has not yet been disclosed. There is no new information about the production of the car yet.

3. Project Sea Lion

Since, there are not many records about this car. Built from TIG-welded aluminum, it is powered by a Mazda 13B rotary engine. It can travel up to 180 miles per hour on land and 60 miles per hour in water, which is an astonishing figure. So, this car is not completely finished.

4. Amphicar

It debuted at the 1961 New York Motor Show and sold until production ceased in 1968. In other words, it is the only amphibious vehicle that is the easiest for the general public to purchase. 1.1-liter four-cylinder petrol engine.

5. Gibbs Aquada

In 2004, Richard Branson drove the Gibbs Aquada for an hour. At forty minutes and six seconds, he set the record for the fastest crossing of the English Channel. So, it has a McLaren F1-style three-seater layout and is said to be powered by a 2.5-liter Rover V6 engine. It can travel over 100mph on land and over 30mph in water.

6. Dutton Surf

After the Suzuki Jimny left the UK due to emissions regulations, the Dutton Surf was produced based on the Suzuki Jimny in 2005. Previously, Dutton had been a Kit Cars manufacturer, which he later left.

7. Rinspeed Splash

The Rinspeed Splash is a hydrofoil with a 750cc twin-cylinder that produces 139bhp and 111lb ft of torque. It is said that it can fly about 60 cm in water. The way it works is that in shallow water it is no different from other amphibious vehicles. However, once it reaches a depth of 1.3 meters, it deploys its side and rear fins. The fins propel the Splash upward, allowing it to cut through the water at speeds of up to 50 mph.

8. Hobbycar B612 (Cars can travel conveniently)

GMC Truck and Coach Chevrolet produced this car in 1942 during World War II. It was used by the US and Allied forces and was pronounced six-wheel-drive as well as Duck. Especially when goods are loaded inland from a ship anchored in the sea. It was a vehicle specially used to transport people. It can carry up to 25 soldiers in one trip. The equipment can carry more than 2 tons.

Kamolvattanavith grew up in Bangkok, Thailand, in a conservative household. Her mother was an investor, while her father managed a golf course and factory. Despite the family’s physical closeness, Kamolvattanavith always felt emotionally detached from her parents. “There was distance between us. I was very vocal, especially about my thoughts, even if they went against the grain.” Because of that family dynamic, Kamolvattanavith wanted out. So in middle school, she began plotting a way to study at the next level in the United States. However, there was one thing standing in the way of her ambitions – money. Around the same time that Kamolvattanavith was planning her move to the U.S., her family experienced financial hardship. “We ended up losing a significant amount of money with a business decision [my parents] made, and that was a financial turning point for us,” she recalls. “My parents had to start a new business, because they really had to support the family and carry on this financial burden. They had to start something fresh so they could pay off everything and recover financially.” Still, the young Thai wouldn’t let that stop her. She began to apply to schools on her own and when accepted, the future investigative journalist asked an uncle to help cover the expenses. “I think he was more understanding. He was the most encouraging out of everyone. He saw the value I could gain by leaving home. He also helped convince my parents,” she says.
